FLYBOY CANADA LOANER DISC PROGRAM
We believe that nobody should be forced to buy a disc golf disc to try the sport. Like almost every other sport or pastime we’ve all been introduced to in our lives, somebody, be it your friend, sibling, or some place such as your school, local gym etc… likely had the gear or tools needed for you to try whatever it was out for the first time. We believe disc golf should be no different and the Flyboy Canada Loaner Disc Program was designed to make discs available so that people can get their hands on a few discs and try it out. We know once you do, you will be hooked. Besides, just knowing there is a basket out there somewhere with nobody throwing discs at it makes us die a little on the inside.
If you have a course nearby and simply cannot find a way to get your hands on some discs to throw, and there isn’t a Flyboy Fly Guide member in your area, then send us an email (loanerdiscs@flyboycanada.com) and we will work with you to get that fixed. However, we will need your help to make this a reality. The main criteria for consideration is to have a business, community centre or library nearby the course that will be willing to be the caretakers of the discs and be responsible for loaning out. If you can help us find a solution for that issue, we are well on the way to getting discs into the hands of future disc golfers.
Last year our Flyboy core members donated funds which were used to purchase the discs we donated to communities for this program. This year we are extremely thankful to PRODIGY DISC President and CEO Michael Sullivan and Managing Partner Esther Benaim for making discs available to this program, as well as, the Flyboy Fly Guide program. Michael and Esther are both Canadians and even though they spend their days in Dalton Georgia running the Prodigy Disc business, they are still equally devoted and committed to Disc Golf development in Canada.
